Laminated Glass

What Is Laminated Glass?

Laminated Glass is a composite material consisting of two or more sheets of glass permanently bonded together by a plastic interlayer. When subjected to impact, the bond between the glass and interlayer adhere any broken fragments, keeping the glass intact and resisting penetration.

This important breakage characteristic significantly reduces the likelihood of serious injury, qualifying laminated glass as a Grade A safety glass in accordance with AS/NZ 2208 and other international standards. In addition, the glass provides environmental protection. It will not fall out if used in sloped or overhead glazing applications.

Laminated glass offers greater protection for people and property by providing an effective barrier from attack. Although the glass will break if hit by a hammer, brick or similar objects, the interlayer can resist penetration, ensuring any attempt to enter a premises will be slow and noisy.

Why Do You Need Laminated Glass?

Laminated glass can be used for your mini post glass balustrade system and channel glass balustrade system. This is the choice if you want a totally frameless balustrade without any handrails. According to the regulation, if you select the laminated glass to build your balustrade, you DO NOT need to select any handrail. It means your balustrade will be totally frameless, and your view will be fully kept.

Moreover, the laminated glass is safer for you and your families. Even if you select the SGP laminated glass, when the glass is attacked, the attacked glass will tend to remain standing besides the deck and pool. You can replace them at a convenient time to you. The type of laminated glass to use will depend on the level of security you require.

Why Choose Laminated Glass From Us?

We mainly use the SGP Laminated Glass. SGP is abbreviation of SentryGuard Plus Interlayer, created by American brand Dupont, on June 1, 2014, Kuraray Co., Ltd. It has become the exclusive licensee for the technology and trademark of SentryGlas®. The SGP laminated glass is five times stronger and up to 100 times stiffer than PVB laminated glass. That’s why designers like to use SGP laminated glass for applications that face bad weather such as storms, hurricane and cyclone, or encounter wars, or need high security. Also, the SGP Laminated Glass is clearer than other Laminated styles, because the SGP yellow index is smaller than 1.5, while normally the PVB yellow index is 6-12.
